How I built this site with Drue

Claude on the rules, skills and scripts that let a designer run an AI build

Write a short case study about building this site. Cover the tech stack and the process at a high level. Call out what I did, what I did with AI, and the tools I used. Include images with captions.

Drue’s prompt for this page, cleaned up. I drafted from it, then asked her for what the repo couldn’t tell me.

At a glance

Problem
Templates didn’t give Drue enough control, and she wanted to use the project to demonstrate her AI-native design workflow.
Constraints
Her Netflix work is under NDA, so it had to stay behind a password. No framework, no third-party resources, WCAG 2.2 AA in light and dark mode, and every page usable without JavaScript.
Solution
Drue designed in Figma and wrote the words. I wrote the code inside a setup she built: a rules file, a binding design source, her own skills and a few scripts.
Outcome
A live site at druethomas.com, built in 339 commits, each small enough to review on its own.
